Jeffrey Bloechl -





Jeffrey Bloechl is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Director of Graduate Studies at Boston College. He is also Honorary Professor of Philosophy at the Australian Catholic University of America. He has been director of the Psychoanalytic Studies Program at Boston College, and is currently on the executive committee of the Institute for Psychology and the Other.  Bloechl studied philosophy, theology, and psychology at the Catholic University of America and at the Catholic University of Leuven, where be completed his doctoral work in 1996. Prior to his move to Boston College, he conducted postdoctoral research in Leuven, and then became Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Edward Bennett Williams Fellow at the College of the Holy Cross. Since coming to Boston College, his teaching and research has concentrated on questions pertaining to philosophical anthropology, as pursued by phenomenology, psychoanalysis and theology. He is currently working on book-length studies of the later Freud and of ethics between Lacan and Levinas.
